Casazium Wirescry

See and change your app's HTTP traffic

Launch a browser or a terminal from Wirescry and its traffic appears — decrypted, formatted and searchable. Nothing is installed system-wide and no proxy settings change, so there is nothing to undo when you close it.

Free and open source. Pro is a paid add-on in the same download.

Wirescry's traffic list: thirteen requests to GitHub, npm, Wikipedia and a weather API, showing method, host, path, status and timing. Two rows carry a Rule badge where a response was mocked or an outage simulated.

What the free app does

Watch everything

Every HTTP and HTTPS request and response, decrypted, with headers and bodies formatted rather than dumped.

Point anything at it

One click launches a browser or a terminal that already trusts Wirescry and already routes through it. Your system proxy settings are untouched and no certificate is added to your machine's trust store.

Find the one request

Narrow a busy session with filters like status>=400 or host=api.*, and read bodies decoded from gzip, Brotli or zstd and formatted, not as one long line.

No telemetry

No analytics, no usage tracking and no crash reporting anywhere in the app, and no account to create. Captures are held locally and cleared when you quit.

Keep it

No time limit and no account, on macOS, Windows and Linux alike. The core is open source under the AGPL — read it or build it yourself.

Wirescry's request and response viewer, with a JSON response body formatted and indented rather than printed as one line.

Your traffic stays on your machine

Wirescry decrypts HTTPS using a certificate authority generated on your computer the first time it starts, belonging only to you. Intercepted traffic is never sent to Casazium: it goes only where it was already headed, or wherever your own rules or edits send it. The app contacts the network to check for updates and, if you buy Pro, to activate your license. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what that involves.

Wirescry Pro

The free app is complete. Pro adds the parts that change traffic rather than watch it.

Wirescry's rule editor with three rules: one mocking a users list, one simulating a GitHub outage with a 503, and one forwarding API calls to a staging server.

If you stop paying, you keep what you paid for

Pro stays working in every Wirescry version released while you were subscribed, on the computers where it is activated. You stop getting Pro in versions released after that. You are buying the software, not renting access to it.

Questions

What happens if I stop paying?
You keep Pro in the Wirescry versions released while you were subscribed, on the computers where it's activated. You don't get Pro in versions released after that.
How many computers?
Three. Move it whenever you like: deactivate it inside Wirescry, or free the old computer from your license page, linked in your license email.
Do I need to be online?
Only to activate, and occasionally after. Pro keeps working for up to 14 days after the license server last confirmed your license. On Linux without a keyring, Pro checks online each time it starts.
Will the price go up?
For new buyers, yes, as Pro gains features. Not for you — you keep the price you joined at for as long as you keep renewing.
Can I get a refund?
Within 30 days, for any reason.
Is the free version really free?
Yes, with no time limit and no account. Wirescry's core is open source under the AGPL.
Is there a discount?
Students get 50% off Pro. Maintainers of active open-source projects get Pro free for a year, renewable. To ask for either, email us from a school address or with a student ID, or with a link to your project.
